OUR PASTOR
Pastor Troy P. Owens, Sr. (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) has been married to his beautiful bride Rachelle (San Diego, California) for 32 years. The Lord has blessed this Godly union with three children, a son-in-law, and four grandchildren.
Pastor Owens has been preaching the Word of God for 28 years; and received his seminary training at Southern California Bible College and Seminary in El Cajon, California.
Pastor Owens has served in numerous levels of Church ministry and leadership, where he uses his God given gifts to enrich and encourage the lives of God’s people. In 1997, by the commandment of God, and under the enabling of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Owens, along with several faithful servants of the Lord, organized the New Life Baptist Church, where he now serves as Senior Pastor.
New Life’s motto is, “Building up Believers; Leading the Lost; Aiding the Afflicted; and Glorifying God!” In conjunction with his pastoral assignment, Pastor Owens is also a twenty-two year Police Officer Veteran with the San Diego Police Department, where he is currently assigned to Southeastern Division Juvenile Services Team. Pastor Owens has received numerous distinguished awards and recognitions in both professional and faith communities.
OUR CHURCH
New Life Baptist Church held its first worship service July 20th, 1997, at the Arrow Center, in San Diego. The Church met there for five weeks. The next location was the Chapel-by-the-Bay. New Life had its first service there September 14, 1997. The congregation of New Life Baptist Church remained at the Chapel-by-the-Bay until the current church was purchased June 30, 2000.
Our brothers and sisters in Christ, Proverbs 26:20 says, "Where there is no wood, the fire goes out..." So when the Holy Spirit leads you to worship with us, bring some wood to the New Life Baptist Church "Sunday Morning Bonfire." NO, we are not talking about physical pieces of wood; we are talking about spiritual wood.
If God has been good to you, then bring your THANKSGIVING wood, LOVE wood, PRAISE wood, WORSHIP wood, JOY wood, and HAPPINESS wood; and help us keep the "Fire of Adoration" to God, burning at New Life!
